Replacement of a single tooth
If one tooth is missing, there are several possibilities to close the gap: crowns or bridges, partial dentures or implants. In case of a bridge, two or even more healthy, adjacent teeth will need to be ground in order to place the bridge. Ground teeth are subject to increased stress and are more prone to fracture and develop caries. Partial dentures cause stress for the anchor teeth and they can be damaged by the metal clasps. The implant is the solution with the highest convenience. It takes over the function of the tooth root and the chewing force is passed on to the jawbone like with a normal tooth. Bone recession can be prevented because the natural chewing function is retained.
Implants are an ideal solution for an optimal restoration of the natural dentition. With dental implants you don’t only gain back your natural smile, you can also eat and speak lightheartedly again.
